First open water clinics

Living on an island surrounded by the beautiful blue Caribbean sea has its benefits. In 2012, SOCI hosted the first international Special Olympics open water swimming clinic. More than 25 coaches and open water swimmers from North America and the Caribbean participated in the 3-day workshop. Following pool sessions and instruction, the athletes competed in the Butterfield 800m Sea Swim on the world famous Seven Mile Beach.

Our World Games Athletes

The Special Olympics World Games are the world's largest inclusive sports event. Thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities will be competing together in 26 sports. Nine days of exciting and inspiring competitions, by athletes and for athletes. From 17 to 25 June 2023, the Special Olympics World Games will take place in Berlin and The Cayman Islands has sixteen athletes attending!
